Comtoise Morbier French Clock Service/Restoration

This is a beautiful French Comtoise Morbier clock.
The movement dates from 1810 but the dial is later at around 1840. This was very dirty and rusty and was a non-runner.
A lot of the wheels were jammed into place due to the old oil and grease solidifying. The movement was stripped down, and each component was thoroughly cleaned.
The escape wheel pivot hole was oversize so this had to be bushed. The movement was then rebuilt.
The finished clock looks stunning and keeps accurate time. It’s a double repeater so repeats the hour 2 minutes after the hour strike, just in case you missed the first which is hard as the bell is very load. This also has an alarm function which considering its age is very impressive.
